Fenwick Brent Cross Shopping Centre – CPO Objection

In June 2016, Graham Chase represented Fenwick Limited as long leaseholders of a department store at the Brent Cross Shopping Centre as objectors to the CPO promoted by the London Borough of Barnet for the redevelopment and extension of the centre by the owners Hammerson PLC and Standard Life. The objection was not against the proposals for redevelopment but that given the nature of the proposals to leave Fenwick as it stands the CPO should not have included the Fenwick long leasehold interest as it was not necessary to undertake and complete the Order Scheme. Graham continues to advise Fenwick on matters relating to negotiations with the developer on the scheme arrangements going forward and heads of claim for compensation.
