Centros Miller Limited appointed us as development consultants and letting agents on this 250,000 sq ft shopping centre in the heart of Chesterfield, which was fully let upon completion. This scheme is located on a sloping site, which challenged the design team to maximise the useable floor space.
We advised on initial design and concept, land acquisition, valuation of third party interests and the promotion of a compulsory purchase order. We negotiated with Chesterfield Borough Council on the Development Agreement and undertook various financial appraisals of the scheme. We also arranged funding of the completed development.
Initially we advised on tenant mix strategy and the letting programme, liaising throughout with solicitors to ensure completion of legal documentation.
Vicar Lane comprises of three anchor stores originally let to Bhs, Woolworths and Argos alongside 32 unit shops with tenants who included New Look, River Island, Superdrug, HMV and Vision Express. The centre includes a 400 space multi-storey car park.
