Middlebrook is one of the largest integrated retail, leisure and sports schemes in the country, located just off Junction 6 of the M61, 4 miles to the west of Bolton town centre.

Following the decision to relocate Bolton Wanderers Football Club from their traditional home of Burnden Park it was agreed to develop a new state of the art stadium at Middlebrook.

Chase & Partners were instructed to advise Orbit Developments and Bolton Wanderers FC on planning and to appear on their behalf at a planning enquiry. Permission was subsequently granted for a mixed use development and construction commenced n 1996.

We also advised on scheme design and letting of both the 329,000 sq ft of retail and 250,000 sq ft of leisure space. Pre-lettings were agreed with ASDA, Warner Bros cinema and a JJB Sports superstore. Today tenants included Marks & Spencer, Boots, Comet, Sports Direct, Next, Clarks, Homebase, Vue Cinemas, Hollywood Bowl, McDonalds, KFC and Frankie and Benny’s.
