Sheffield United Football Club Limited – Arbitrator

Graham Chase was appointed by the agent for the President of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors to act as Arbitrator charged with determining the “Market Value” (Purchase Price) of the 5 properties that are in dispute. The respondent in this case is Sheffield United Football Club Limited (“SUFC”) who are in dispute with 4 other parties who represent the 5 properties. Each property has various leases and Graham must determine the “Purchase Price” of each of the subject premises as defined in Clause 13 of each of the option agreements. Graham was also tasked with determining a number of legal issues to which additional an opinion was required. Following a 3-week hearing which required the appointment of Legal assessor, Lord Neuberger of Abbotsbury, and an accountancy expert, Mr S. Bank of Lubbock Fine, Graham issued his award within 3 weeks of receiving closing submissions in a 120 page decision.
